Tirupati: Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas has appreciated the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) for playing a vital role in serving the poor and needy.

On Thursday, the Minister inaugurated various developmental works worth Rs 4 crore at SVIMS. He opened a new out-patient block which was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.8 crore, an electric sub-station at a cost of Rs 1.8 crore and a generator with Rs 40 lakh. Later, the Minister launched SVIMS website.

Addressing a meeting, Kamineni stated that the state government has been providing required infrastructure for SVIMS super specialty hospital. The Minister informed that the SVIMS Board will take steps on filling vacant posts after cases cleared in courts. SVIMS Director Dr Ravikumar and BJP state leader Bhanu Prakash Reddy, hospital doctors and staff were present.
