Burglars gang busted
The crime police busted burglars’ gang, including three women, on Friday. The police recovered 1.66 kg of gold and six kg of silver ornaments from them. Police chased as many as 51 property offences including three cases registered in East Godavari District.

While producing the accused before the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shemushi Bajpayee said that the gang leader Ch Srinu is a kleptomaniac. He is a resident of Malkapuram in Visakhapatnam and was involved in 160 property offences. He also convicted in 110 cases and released from the prison in 2012.
The other accused were identified as K Vasu, R Nagaraju, L Rajasekhar, D Suresh, M Sudheer Kumar, KLV Prasad, K Padma, K Appalaraju, M Lakshmi, M Narayanamma, D Govind, M Santosh Kumar, D Venkat, Siva Kumar, all residents of Visakhapatnam.
The DCP said that the gang leader Srinu had divided the gang into four groups and also given areas with boundaries. Each group used to conduct the recce in the morning hours to find out the locked houses at their given areas and later, they used to break the houses in the nights and decamp with valuables. The gang committed the offences since 2013. Out of 51 offences, 47 have been reported in Visakhapatnam city and four were reported in Kakinada and Anakapalle.
In one of the cases, one of the accused Narayanamma, worked as a maid at a house in Chinamushidiwada in the city. When the owners went for vacation, she called up gang leader Srinu, the gang broke the locks of the house and fled with gold ornaments. Another accused M Lakshmi had helped the gang in disposing the gold and other stolen properties, the DCP said.
