Srikakulam: Officials prepared a master plan for Sun God temple at Arasavalli in the district and they are keen to finish it at a brisk pace. After making repeated field-level enquiries and physical verification, officials decided to implement the master plan in three phases.

Srikakulam revenue divisional officer Balivada Dayanidhi has been assigned to finalise the list of affected families, re-settlement package and requirements for the master plan.

In the first phase, about 11 houses-cum-shops would be affected for widening of road leading to Indra Pushkarini from temple main gate. In second phase, two acres land was required at main arch which is situated on Srikakulam to Kalingapatnam main road.

After acquiring the land, ticket counters, VIP parking and shops would be constructed, queue lines also start from this point. In third phase, widening of roads in all four directions around the main temple would be taken up to avoid rush.

“Due to widening of roads, 64 families would be displaced and we will provide alternative houses to all the displaced,” RDO Balivada Dayanidhi explained to The Hans India. First and second phase works are likely to finish before rathasapthami festival and third phase may take some more time, the RDO elaborated.
