This is a victory for the Opposition YSRCP, as it has managed to put the ruling TDP on the defensive.
Dalit women, who were protesting the land grab by the TDP leaders allegedly backed by a local MLA, were attacked. One Dalit woman was stripped. The incident occurred on December 17 but came to light only later.
But, the Dalit woman, who was molested, remained unconvinced and angry. She asked: “Will I get back my honour by taking the Rs 1 lakh that the Government is promising to give me?” She says she will get justice only when the culprits are punished.
