Technology makes agriculture activity faster, safer: Somireddy
Agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said technology made the things in agriculture sector where spraying pesticide in 2.5 acres of land within 35 minutes.
Nellore: Agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said technology made the things in agriculture sector where spraying pesticide in 2.5 acres of land within 35 minutes.
Participating in a demonstration programme on use of drones at Agriculture Research Station in city on Friday, he said technological advancement in the sector has been giving relief to farmers rather spending much time through manual labour.
This would save time and expenditure to farmers making them bit relaxed besides avoiding work-related sickness and deaths, he added. He warned that they should take care of preventing movement of humans and animals while spraying pesticides using drones.
Joint collector-2 VVS Reddy said farmers are being provided timely support through real-time governance and the technology is being utilised for extending the services. He said tractors were being distributed to the farmers under Rythu Ratham programme at subsidised prices.
Joint Director of Agriculture Chandra Naik, CIFA leader Koti Reddy and others were present. Initially, Vasantraj from Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu organised demo on use of drones.
