Two chain snatchers arrested
Tekkali police arrested two chain snatchers and recovered 14 tolas of gold ornaments and a motor bike from them here on Friday. Superintendent of Police CM Trivikram Varma produced the accused before the media at the district police office.
Srikakulam: Tekkali police arrested two chain snatchers and recovered 14 tolas of gold ornaments and a motor bike from them here on Friday. Superintendent of Police CM Trivikram Varma produced the accused before the media at the district police office.
The accused were identified as Devadi Tirupathi Rao, Palla Dilip, both belonging to Adiandhra Veedhi in Tekkali division headquarters. The accused snatched chains in Tekkali, Kasibugga, Kaviti, Etcherla, Kotabommali and Narasannapeta police stations limits across the district in six months.
Accused Tirupathi Rao was disposing the snatched gold ornaments through a woman at Tekkali with whom he had an extra-marital affair. The Superintendent of Police lauded the efforts of Tekkali ASI Gopala Rao and constable Prasada Rao for arresting the accused.
