Kurnool: Municipal Corporation Commissioner CB Harinath Reddy said that Rythu Bazaars too falls under the purview of corporation and it is the responsibility of civic staff to maintain them clean.

Harinath Reddy accompanied with Assistant Director for Marketing on Saturday inspected the sanitary condition at C camp Rythu Bazaar. Speaking to media, the commissioner said that the civic staff should give top priority to sanitation as it will create a healthy environment.

During his visit to Rythu Bazaar, he interacted with vegetable vendors and advised them not to throw vegetables on roads or elsewhere and suggested them to dump them at Organic Waste Converter Centre.

With vegetable waste, good amount of manure could be generated, he said and suggested them not to use plastic carry bags. Responding to commissioner, the vegetable vendors said they were using only paper and jute bags.

After interacting with vegetable vendors and inspecting Rythu Bazaar, the commissioner also inspected organic waste convertor centre adjacent to Rythu Bazaar. On noticing the vegetable wastage dumped outside the Rythu Bazaar, he directed the civic staff to engage four push carts for transportation of vegetable garbage.
