To promote joint research activities in the areas of microelectronics, GITAM University signed an MoU with Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL), Department of Space, Government of India (Mohali, Punjab), here on Saturday at GITAM campus.

Visakhapatnam: To promote joint research activities in the areas of microelectronics, GITAM University signed an MoU with Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL), Department of Space, Government of India (Mohali, Punjab), here on Saturday at GITAM campus.

The SCL Design and Process Group head HS Jatana and GITAM Registrar Prof M Potharaju exchanged the MoU papers in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof MS Prasada Rao and Institute of Technology Principal Prof K Lakshmiprasad.

Addressing a gathering, Head of SCL Design and Process Group HS Jatana informed that under Department of Space, SCL, is engaged in research and development in the area of microelectronics to meet the strategic needs of the country.

He briefed that SCL has integrated facilities, supporting infrastructure all under one roof and undertakes activities focused on design, development, fabrication, assembling and packaging, testing and auality assurance of CMOS and MEMS devices for various space and other applications.

SCL is also engaged in fabrication of Hi-Rel Boards, Radio Systems and indigenisation of electronic sub systems, he informed.

As part of MoU, both the organisations are committed to promote joint research activities in the areas of mutual interest to promote faculty exchange programmes through academic conferences / workshops, joint research activities and other allied professional development practices.
