Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati conducted its ODF awareness and household survey programmes in Karakambadi, Chengareddy pallI and Gollapalli villages of Renigunta mandal, Chittoor district on Saturday. 

Tirupati: Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati conducted its ODF awareness and household survey programmes in Karakambadi, Chengareddy pallI and Gollapalli villages of Renigunta mandal, Chittoor district on Saturday.

Renigunta MPDO Sudhakar Babu, EO Mohithi, Karakambadi panchayath staff, villagers and four staff members and 100 students from the Department of Economics, Women’s Studies, Telugu and Computer Science of SPMVV, conducted a massive rally in the main villages of Karakambadi and Chengareddy palli.

They raised slogans on the need for ensuring the commencement of Individual Household Latrines (IHHLS) and their proper usage for promoting better health among the villagers. After completion of the rally in the villages, the students were deployed to conduct an intensive household survey on the proper usage of toilets and their health benefits as envisaged in the Swachh Andhra Mission of Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Swachh Andhra Mission nodal officer of SPMVV Prof K Murugaiah said that the awareness rallies and survey would continue in selected panchayaths of Renigunta mandal on first and fourth Saturdays of coming months for attaining the goals of the mission.
