Houses to the poor by next Dec

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that they would complete construction of houses and handover them to the poor by December 2018. Narayana inspected the construction site at Janardhan Reddy Colony in 54th division in the city on Sunday, interacted with the beneficiaries and enquired about quality of the houses being constructed by the government.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister has said that they have been constructing the houses using shear-wall technology after studying various types of constructions in different countries. ‘Though the cost of construction increased by Rs.200 per sq. feet, the State government had decided to construct houses with quality for the benefit of the poor,’ he said.

He also informed that they had sanctioned Rs.3 cr for the construction of Park for at the houses. Government will also arrange school, playground and other basic amenities in the colony.

In addition, Municipal Shopping Complex will also be constructed in the colony and handover it to the women under MEPMA. City Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz, NUDA Chairman K Srinivasulu Reddy, former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy and others were present.
