Women oppose liquor shop at Indira Nagar

Visakhapatnam: A large number of women and students staged a dharna opposing establishment of liquor shop at Indira Nagar near National Highway in the city on Sunday. Women’s organisation leaders Anasuya and Ammaji said that the residents were opposed to set up liquor shop in the residential area.

“Earlier, the liquor shops at Sanosh Nagar near Kailasapuram got removed owing to pressure from locals. Again, the same shops are being put up here. This is not acceptable,” said the residents of the colony. They also said they would be complaining to North MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju about the matter.
