Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the aim to provide technological advancements at the doorsteps of the common man is going to become reality through the AP Fiber Grid project.

During a teleconference on Monday, the Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements with the senior officials for the launching function of AP Fiber Grid by President Ram Nath Kovind.

The Chief Minister said the President will dedicate the ambitious fiber grid project to the nation on December 27. The Chief Minister expressed happiness that his dream of providing internet, television and telephone services to the common man at a very nominal price is being realised. He emphasised the need for providing connections to 30 lakh households by 2019 as targeted by the government.

“I am confident that the Fiber grid project will create history and get global recognition to the State in providing invaluable services to the common man using the most advanced technology. I am sure the State will be the frontrunner in the country to ascertain happiness levels amongst its people using the global technology,” he said.

He also said the State was gradually overcoming the constraints like huge power deficit. “The State is now emerging as the most happening State in the country by showing exemplary performance in all key areas. Only recently, we have secured a distinctive record of achieving National Energy Conservation Awards for the last three consecutive years besides getting first rank from the World Bank,” he reminded.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that AP secured another distinction of receiving five SKOCH Awards for the best performance by Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments in the areas of Minister’s Dashboard, Jalavani, NTR Jalasiri, LED lights monitoring by IoT (Internet of Things) and Solid Waste Management.

“The sophisticated technologies like Fibergrid are going to contribute immensely to salutary transformations in the society to enhance the quality of life of people even in the remotest areas,” he said.
