Dhaniani Cheruvu, (Anantapur): Accusing Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of going back on all poll-eve promises and watering down welfare schemes, YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy promised that all loans of women’s groups would be waived in a phased manner and they would be made eligible for zero per cent interest bank loans.

Interacting with women’s groups at Dhaniani Cheruvu village as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Tuesday, Jagan said Naidu during the last three-and-a-half years had not waived a single loan and there had been no protection during TDP rule. He said the situation wold be changed and women would get their rightful place in society if he was voted to power.

He alleged that law and order situation had worsened in the TDP regime and there has been no protection to women as the atrocities were on the rise and predators were being protected by the ruling party leaders themselves.

When a Dalit woman was disrobed, the Chief Minister was indifferent, so was the case when a woman official was assaulted by a TDP leader and a student committed suicide in the university, he said. “We will ensure that all families live in peace and see to it that prohibition is implemented in a phased manner while Naidu has been encouraging sale of cheap liquor through belt shops by increasing their number,” he said.

Alleging that the TDP had not built any houses, he said their government would build houses and register them in the name of the housewife, which would be useful in the times of contingencies.
