Rajiv Shrigopal Bajaj and Shrigopal Bajaj of Vital laboratories Private Limited, Mumbai visited SVIMS on Monday to review progress of the building “Centre for Advanced Research (CfAR) constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.12 crores.

Tirupati: Rajiv Shrigopal Bajaj and Shrigopal Bajaj of Vital laboratories Private Limited, Mumbai visited SVIMS on Monday to review progress of the building “Centre for Advanced Research (CfAR) constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.12 crores.

These donors have contributed a total of about Rs.25.50 crores to SVIMS over the last decade. They, and the allocation of Rs.12 crores during this year alone for CfAr project. The civil works are nearing completion, to be followed by interiors and equipment installation.

SVIMS Director cum V-C Dr TS Ravikumar held wide ranging discussions with the donors. He outlined the allocation of Rs.6 crores to civil works and the balance Rs.6 crores for internal design, equipment and support services.

In this building, population health research, clinical trials infrastructure, data management centre, Biostatistics/Epidemiology etc will be housed on ground floor and the Research projects under the theme “Infection, Inflammation and Immunity” will be on the first floor.

The second floor will be dedicated to Regenerative Medicine, Islet cell transplantation and stem cell biology. SVIMS VC announced the release of first edition of “SVIMS Chronicle” that brings out annual achievements in various domains. The Bajajs released the Chronicle on this occasion.
