Visakhapatnam: The ruling Telugu Desam Party MLAs in the district on Monday expressed displeasure over the slow progress of development works in the district with District In-Charge Minister and Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa.

The MLAs said, “No officer is caring us and troubling us in the name of no clearances from bosses. Sometimes, we have doubt that weather we are in ruling party or in the opposition. Even after completion of three-years in the power, we are facing lots of troubles to face the people. The officials are not even trying to solve our issues. The MLAs warned that they will launch agitation, including dharnas to press for their demands.”

It is the second time that the TDP MLAs expressed their dissent over the officials in the district. The MLAs also submitted a memorandum to Chinarajappa pressing their list of demands. Observing the seriousness of the issue and MLAs anger on the administration, Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa directed the officials to act on the demands of MLAS in the recent district review meeting.

Responding to the MLAs’ dissent, Chinarajappa directed the officials to issue pensions to 4,000 applicants even they did not have Sadaram certificates. The Deputy Chief Almost all the MLAs pointed out the medical and health services in the district. The Deputy Chief Minister also directed the MLAs to prepare a note on Primary Health Centres (PHC). Once they get reports from the MLAs, officials would initiate action, he assured the MLAs.

Talking about the house owners’ troubles located in Simhachachalam Devasthanam lands, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the Endowments officials not to create problems when the house owners taking up repair works of their houses. Chinarajappa also enquired about the ration cards issue in the district. The officials informed that the government sanctioned 10,000 ration cards.

He said that the rations cards will be distributed in the ensuing Janmabhoomi programme. However, the officials said that they received over 28,000 applications for ration cards. Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister urged the officials to attend to the MLAs requests as they have been answerable to the people. According to a senior official, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to attend to the pleas of TDP MLAs.
