The Vigilance wing of the Tirumala Tirupati Devestanam (TTD) busted online ticket scam by arresting brokers and ticket counter employees in Tirumala. Vigilance officials Sada Laxmi and Ravikrishna said the brokers in collusion with the counter employees sold out dharshanam each ticket costing Rs 300 at a whooping Rs 1000 to the devotees through back door.
The accused in the scam kanakaraju, Surendhra and Vasu were arrested in the scam. On December 25, they sold 25 tickets at higher prices . As per the rule, once the tickets were scanned and sold out it will not be scanned again. Brokers took the xerox copies of the tickets and gave them to the gullible devotees.
Once they submit tickets at counters to enter into temple premises, the employees pretended the tickets are scanned and allowed them . Sensing the irregularities taking place in the issuance of tickets, the vigilance wing officials plunged into action and caught red handed the accused.
