Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): TDP MLC D Jagadish alleged that the BJP leaders were not extending proper cooperation to the State government. Speaking at a meeting at Parvathipuram on Wednesday, he said that BJP polled lesser votes than NOTA in the recent by-election in Tamil Nadu.

"The Union government is obstructing Polavaram and some other projects too," he alleged. He said the BJP leaders had earlier demanded Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh for 10 years but now they were not extending cooperation for the development of the State.

He pointed out that the Centre is yet to even release funds under the special package announced for the State. Though a railway zone was promised for the State, the Centre failed to sanction it.

Stating that the BJP should be aware of its strength in the State, he called upon its leaders to maintain good relations with the leaders of its ally TDP. Referring to the comments made by BJP MLC P V Madhav against the TDP, he said, “They should not provoke our cadre and test our patience.”

He said the leaders of BJP should not forget that they are also accountable to people of the State. Parvathipuram MLA B Chiranjeevulu also participated in the programme.
