Visakhapatnam: A large number of representations on various issues from the people have been pending with various government departments. In order to attend to their grievances, the government started the ‘Mee-Kosam’ programme on every Monday. All the departmental heads, District Collector and Joint Collector will be available at the district collectorates and take the representations from the people.

The representations will be forwarded to the officials of the departments concerned for clearance quickly. However, as many as 1,73,667 representations were still pending with almost all the departments in the district.

Responding to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s video conference held here on Tuesday, District Collector Pravin Kumar informed the Chief Minister that out of the total pending representations, 60,575 related to the financial matters, while 1,13,092 to non-financial issues.

Giving out reasons for the large number of pending representations, the Collector said that due to technical issues, the representations have been logged into other departments, instead of the departments concerned. However, the District Collector assured the Chief Minister that all the representations would be cleared within a period of three days.

The Chief Minister directed the District Collector to clear all the pending files on a priority basis as the next phase of ‘Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru’ programme would start from January 2, 2018. If, their representations were not cleared, reasons should be spelled out to the people during the JB-MV programme.
