Minister sanctions funds for drains

Nellore: Municipal Minister P Narayana inspected drains in 31 and 32 divisions along with the officials here on Tuesday. Speaking to the media, the Minister said that the government had sanctioned Rs 1.6 lakh for construction of drains and roads at Vijayalakshmi Colony and Rs 40 lakh for the developmental works in Police Colony. Speaking to the media, the Minister said that the government had sanctioned Rs 1.6 lakh for construction of drains and roads at Vijayalakshmi Colony and Rs 40 lakh for the developmental works in Police Colony.
Rs 2 crore funds were approved to construct roads and drains in Revenue Colony, he said and stated that there is a need to allocate Rs 8 crore more for development of the colony. The Minister informed that he would inspect the works being taken up in colonies every week. Nellore RDO D Haritha, NUDA Chairman K S Reddy, Municipal SE Ravi Kiran, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Kumar and others were present.
