Amaravati: Principal Secretary for Energy department Ajay Jain said there was no truth in the propaganda that the State government was planning to privatise APTransco or APGenco. Speaking at a meeting of AP State Electricity Engineers Association here on Thursday, he said that the State government was taking all necessary steps to strengthen the energy sector in the state with an aim to provide 24x7 quality power to people.
Due to measures taken by the government, the state has achieved surplus in power production and reduced losses successfully, he added. “The losses in power distribution in APEPDCL reduced to 4 per cent. The State government will not privatise such organisations which are exhibiting best performance,” he said.
