Visakhapatnam: A unique programme ‘walk for values’ was organised by the students, teachers, staff of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar School, Balavikas students, Balavikas Gurus and devotees in the city on Wednesday.

The main purpose of walk is to promote human and spiritual values in common people on the lines of five fundamental principles of Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prema and Ahimsa. “It is not just a walk; it is actually a journey, a pilgrimage of self-discovery, self-transformation and self-purification,” the speakers in the walk narrated.

Complimenting all those who participated in walk, Convener of Sri Satya Sai Seva Organisation of Telugu States SG Chalam urged everyone to uphold the rich traditional Indian culture, human and spiritual values for the betterment of each and everyone and the society at large. The responsibility of preserving a traditional India based on ethical values lies in the safe hands of the younger generation, he opined.

Students took pledge that they would practice at least one or more of the following values make the world richer and healthier filled with human values and ethics. Some students made a striking appearance in the traditional attire of five religions namely Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Sikhism and Buddhism reflecting of unity of religions and faith. The walk was carried out in various parts of the city. District President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations VR Nageswara Rao monitored the walk.
