A day after protests rocked the Lok Sabha regarding the long-pending demand for the division of the Hyderabad High Court between Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh, Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad spoke in the House on the issue on Thursday.

He said that the AP government would allow the AP High Court to be established in Amaravati on a temporary basis and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has offered four buildings for the purpose.

The Union Minister said that once the selection is complete, the High Court would be established and function in the state till a permanent building comes up in the capital city.

Mentioning that the Centre has already allocated funds to AP to establish the High Court in the state, Mr. Prasad said that the High Court located in Hyderabad would serve Telangana as per the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh urged the Chief Ministers of both the states to resolve the issues due to bifurcation and the Centre was ready to cooperate.
