Kadapa: District Collector T Baburao Naidu has stressed on the need for better coordination between the officials and bankers in grounding the housing units allocated to beneficiaries of SC, ST, BC and minority communities.

The Collector participated in the district-level bankers meeting held here on Thursday, in which district officials and bankers have participated. The meeting focused on grounding the units sanctioned to beneficiaries by SC, ST, BC, and Minority Corporations for the years 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Following directions of the Chief Minister, Baburao Naidu stated that the units will be grounded on January 11, 2018 throughout the state. He directed the officials concerned to take initiative for grounding all the pending units on the same day.

The Collector instructed the officials to upload the utilisation certificates for the units if they were already grounded. The Collector directed the bankers to ensure the subsidy amount is credited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries. District BC Corporation Executive Director V Srinivasulu said Kadapa stands first in grounding 1,121 units in 2016-17.

He further stated subsidy amount of Rs 12.5 crore were already credited into the accounts of beneficiaries. Funds were sanctioned for construction of 3,411 units from the total of 3,688 in the district. District SC Corporation Executive Director A Lakshmi stated 922 units from the total of 1,657 were grounded in 2016-17 and 58 units in 2017-18.

Lalitha Bai, Welfare Officer of the District ST Corporation said 150 units were grounded in 2016-2017 and 286 in 2017-18. Joint Collector-2 Siva Reddy, DRO Obanna, Lead Bank Manager Anjaneya Chari and others were present.
