YSR Congress won 22 wards out of 30 in the Municipal election held three years ago . As per the agreement, the party councillor B Revathi has been elected as Municipal chairperson for a period of two years six months. In the left over half term, another leader R Triveni was given assurance to ascend the post.
When Revathi declined to step down from the post, Triveni raised a banner of revolt and created a six member rebel group within the party. They announced quitting the councillor post for violating the agreement. Sensing a big trouble, senior leader jumped in to action to set the things in order.
