Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday sanctioned Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the five deceased in  the accident at Repudi village under Phirangipuram mandal of Guntur district on Thursday.

He also sanctioned Rs. 2-lakh each to three seriously injured students and Rs. 50,000 to those who sustained minor injuries in the accident. He directed the officials to provide free treatment to the injured under the NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme. The government released orders to this effect.

The seriously injured are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Guntur. In this connection, it may be noted that five persons – four students and the auto driver – died when an APS RTC bus rammed against an auto-rickshaw at Repudi village under Phirangipuram mandal on Thursday. Three students received serious injuries in the mishap. They students pursue 10th Class in a private school.

Pulla Rao consoles injured students
Meanwhile, Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao, District Collector Kona Sasidhar on Friday visited Lalitha Super Specialities Hospital in Guntur city and consoled the seriously injured persons. Three students - Vaishnavi Reddy, Sirisha, and P Lakshmi Bhanu- sustained serious injuries in the road accident at Repudi village and are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The minister and the collector made inquiries about the health condition of the students. Later, the Collector said, `they are out of danger and will recover soon. The doctors are giving best treatment.’ Minister Pulla Rao said, `Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu sanctioned Rs 5-lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 to those who sustained minor injuries in the bus accident.

Pulla Rao directed the officials to set up danger sign boards on the roads where road accidents are occurring and added that the danger sign boards would alert the drivers. District Collector Kona Sasidhar has said that he has already ordered an inquiry into the accident and after getting the report, he will take further steps. If RTC bus driver is responsible for the accident, action will be taken. He will conduct counselling to the remaining students, the Collector said.
