Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Friday that AP fiber grid received nation-wide attention as the prestigious project of the State was launched by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Addressing district Collectors over a video-conference, he said the Real Time Governance (RTG) centre at the Secretariat at Velagapudi was functioning well and keeping the administration regularly updated on the progress of works and government initiatives.

Naidu exuded confidence that Andhra Pradesh would turn 100 per cent ODF State by March, 2018. The Chief Minister said he would keep a check on the attendance and performance of employees and number of days being taken by each Minister and different departments to dispose of files.

Speaking on implementation of schemes and solving people’s grievances during Janma Bhoomi-Maa Vooru programme, Chandrababu Naidu directed the Collectors not to show any discrimination in the distribution of government benefits to people.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that new ration cards would be distributed to 2.24 lakh beneficiaries and scholarships to 18 lakh persons during the 10-day Janmabhoomi programme next month. Tool kits would be distributed to 19,500 people.

Pensions will be given to 3.8 lakh beneficiaries across the State. In all, 2.7 lakh beneficiaries have been identified under bank and non-bank linked schemes pertaining to various corporations and others.

Distribution of assets will take place during the Mega Grounding Mela and the government has earmarked Rs 4,763 crore for the purpose. Post-matric scholarships will be given to almost 10 lakh beneficiaries from the minority groups.

“The Mandal Level Team visits for grievance redressal must ensure that there must be no non-financial issues remaining”, said Sanjay Gupta, CEO, APSDPS.

Swachh Andhra: As a part of the fortnightly review of the Swachh Andhra Mission, the Chief Minister enquired about the progress of each district.
Officials reported that the State’s average performance in the ODF mission was well above the national average.

“5969 GPs have been declared ODF, out of which 81% have been verified. Six districts have completed the target, out of which 2 (Nellore and Krishna) have been verified. The target for the remaining 7 districts is March 2018,” they reported. They pointed out that 14.15 lakh toilets are yet to be constructed across the State, out of which 3,66 lakh toilets are yet to be grounded.
