Mother, son drown in pond
A women died while trying to save her drowning son in a farm pond in Ardhaveedu mandal in Prakasam district on Friday.
Giddalur: A women died while trying to save her drowning son in a farm pond in Ardhaveedu mandal in Prakasam district on Friday. According to locals, a family from Gokavaram village in East Godavari district was migrated to Mittameedi Palle village in Ardhaveedu mandal in Prakasam district a few months ago. The family is living in the farm between Mittameedi Palle and Peda Kandukur villages.
On Friday, a five-year-old boy of the family, Veerendra Kumar fell in the farm pond and drowned. His mother Roja, who witnessed the incident, jumped into it to save her son. But she also drowned in the farm pond. By the time, locals reached the farm and the mother and son already died. The local police registered a case under suspicious death and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
