Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Minister Kaluva Srinivas on Friday said the Centre is planning to provide houses to all by the year 2020. He was addressing the newsmen in New Delhi after he met Union Minister for Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar.

After Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister took over the government in 2014, he started constructing houses for the poor in the state, he said.

Over 5 lakh people in the state have applied for the houses in 2011 and the Centre was urged to allocate funds for providing shelter for the poor, he said. The Minister claimed that the state government had so far built 3.7 Pakka houses for the poor. He said that the Chandrababu Naidu government had spent Rs 3,800 crore for the construction of Pakka Houses.
