Commenting on the performance of Sri City during 2017, Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy said, “During the year, Sri City has attracted 19 new customers at a committed total investments worth of Rs 3146.5 crore. All put together, during January-October there were exports worth of about Rs 659 crore from Sri City units”.

Acknowledging the excellent support and guidance from the state government, he said that in response to the JETRO’s appeal made on July 12 for improving certain government services in Sri City, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accorded instant approval for setting up of a fire station within three weeks and assurance of uninterrupted power to industries within two months.

During the year, as a part of the ‘ease of doing business’ initiatives of the central and state governments, top bureaucrats visited Sri City, reviewed the status and assured all support. In recognition of its commitment, Sri City bagged awards from several prestigious organisations.

For training the youth with a definite focus on skill development and vocational training, the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) with assistance of Siemens Corporation, opened a Technical Skill Development Institute in Sri City on February 7. Diplomats from USA, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan, and a host of high ranking officials from central and state governments visited the industrial park and
witnessed the growth.

As an investor-friendly ecosystem has already been built at Sri City, eight important international delegations, comprising of business leaders, industrialists etc., paid visits to Sri City during the year, and had discussions.

Two large teams of Inter-District Youth Exchange Programme, comprising about 150 members in each, visited Sri City, in July. So as to make Sri City safe, a Hi-tech Police Station, headed by a DSP was set up during the year. A state of the art fire station was inaugurated in July.

Similarly, a Sub-Post Office was opened during April. Throughout the year, several companies conducted job melas, both at Sri City and also at different towns in the state and recruited youngsters for jobs. On the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) front too, the year witnessed much activity.

The CSR programme of Sri City, as an integral part of its holistic region development plan, focuses on improving the vital social parameters like access to quality education, better health services, social infrastructure, livelihood options etc.
