4 die, 7 injured as auto rams into car
In a ghastly accident, four people including three women and an auto-rickshaw driver were killed and seven others were injured, when a speeding auto-rickshaw, in which they were travelling, collided with a car near Darga on the outskirts of Mylavaram in Krishnan district on Saturday.Â
Vijayawada: In a ghastly accident, four people including three women and an auto-rickshaw driver were killed and seven others were injured, when a speeding auto-rickshaw, in which they were travelling, collided with a car near Darga on the outskirts of Mylavaram in Krishnan district on Saturday.
According to Mylavaram police, the ill-fated auto rickshaw was going to Pulluru from Mylavaram while the Tata Indica car bearing number AP09 BP 6150 car was going from Palavancha to Vijayawada when the accident took place.
Three women passengers travelling in the auto-rickshaw Saggurthi Latha (40), Garikapati Nagamani (25), Manda rajeswari (17) and auto driver Garikapati Nageswara Rao (34) died in the mishap. The police said all three women died on the spot while the auto-rickshaw driver died while he was being shifted to a local hospital. Seven other injured in the accident were shifted to the government hospital in Vijayawada. Five of them sustained serious injuries. In all, 11 passengers were travelling in the auto rickshaw when the mishap occurred, police said.
