4 in family killed in road accident
In a gruesome road accident, four people of a single family were killed when the auto they were travelling in collided with a car at Mylavaram here in the city on Saturday.
Vijayawada: In a gruesome road accident, four people of a single family were killed when the auto they were travelling in collided with a car at Mylavaram here in the city on Saturday.
According to the police, victims were identified as S Latha (40), Garikapati Nagamani (25), Manda Rajeshwari (17). All the victims died on the spot while Garikapati Nageshwara Rao (34) who was driving the vehicle succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to hospital.
The police said that as many as 11 members of a single family were set out to attend special prayers in a church at Pullur. A car from Badrachalam was heading to Mylavaram.
According to eye witnesses, the autorickshaw driver (Nagesgwara Rao) tried avert a collision with a dog on the national highway and lost control, collided with the car. Others who got injured were undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
The police registered a case and launched investigation.
