Dr Somayajulu broke the previous world record of piles surgery in 3 minutes by performing the same in 90 seconds by burning the three piles in 1.1 minute at 121 degrees centigrade heat under the full view of the media and observers.

Addressing the media after the surgery, Somayajulu said that one can walk out of the hospital in 3 hours after the surgery and return to work in 3 days.

The piles surgery can be done in a small dispensary in perfect rural set up and the patient can emerge from piles to smiles, he stated. Till date, Somayajulu has performed 13,000 pile surgeries. He said that his hospital would refund money to patients if piles surgery failed them.
