Vijayawada: Death of a 12-year-old girl at RR Pet due to illness created confusion among the family members, who staged a dharna at the government hospital on Saturday, demanding that the doctors be suspended. But the doctors denounced the allegations levelled against them and clarified that the girl had died of head injury as she fell in school on Friday.

Potina Sai Durga of Rajarajeswaripet fell accidentally on the school premises. Immediately, she was shifted to the government hospital. Doctors informed the family members that she was in coma.

After some time, doctors declared that the girl had died.When the family members were preparing for funeral on Saturday, a local RMP at RR Pet said the girl is alive. Later, the family members took the girl to three hospitals and begged for treatment.

But the hospitals refused to take the girl saying that she had died. Later, they again went to the government hospital and staged a dharna and demanded the suspension of the doctor.

The superintendent of government hospital has made it clear that the girl died due to injury. Health Minister Dr Kamineni Srinivas enquired about it and announced that after getting the report, action will be taken.
