Speaking to reporters at Roads and Buildings guest house here on Saturday, he said the government also sanctioned an amount of Rs 1 lakh to his family members immediately on Friday. As many as five special teams were pressed into service to unravel murder case and necessary evidences were collected.

Meanwhile Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) came forward to repair the mosque from its funds. Farooq was survived with wife and six children, who came to work in the mosque from Bihar state. The Chief Minister directed the police department to arrest the accused immediately, he said and added the cultural city is a glaring example for communal harmony from years together and appealed to Muslims not to worry in this regard. MLC MA Farooq said this is first time in the state an employee working in a mosque was murdered and the incident hurt the sentiments of Muslims.

MP Maganti Murali Mohan said he came to know about the incident while he was in Parliament session and immediately spoke to N Chinarajappa and Urban SP and termed the murder as an unfortunate incident.

Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai assured to repair the mosque from corporation funds and appealed to Muslim community not to worry about the issue as the government is trying to nab the miscreants. MLC Adireddy B Appa Rao said that all communities in the city are living with harmony and added some political parties are trying to get political mileage on the incident, which is not good on their part.

Deputy mayor V Rambanu, Muslim community leaders Chand Basha, Sheik Subhan and others were present. Meanwhile the police sent the body of Mohammed Farooq to his native place in Bihar in an ambulance on Saturday along with his family members. Some miscreants murdered Farooq in a mosque when he is working on Friday morning, which created sensation in the state.

Meanwhile, Muslim minorities staged dharna on National Highway at Lalachervu with the body and later performed Namaz on the road. Heavy bando bust was arranged at Lalachervu as a pre-cautionary measure. After shifting the body, the agitators organised a rally in the city demanding the government arrest the accused who murdered Farooq.
