Tirupati: The issuance of Vaikunta Ekadasi passes has seemingly sown seeds of discontentment in the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Chittoor district. TTD leaders express their anger on Tirumala JEO as the Party district unit President Pulivarthy Nani’s letter was turned down.

He applied for 1 + 6 passes along with others which was rejected. Knowing this the Minister for Industries N Amarnath Reddy was said to have expressed his dissatisfaction and even decided not to go for darshan on the day.

But, it was Nani who persuaded him to go for darshan and not to give room for controversy. Later in the evening, Nani was communicated that he would be given 1+2 passes instead of 1+6 which he rejected.

It may be noted that TTD has issued 3,565 VIP passes on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi in the name of protocol. The leaders are questioning the TTD officials in this regard. They brought it to the notice of the Minister Amarnath Reddy on Thursday, a day before V-Day.

They are even considering to apply for the details of those who got the passes under Right to Information Act. Speaking to The Hans India, Pulivarthy Nani confirmed that, his letter was rejected by the JEO.

Other leaders were also saying that this is not first time that their letters for VIP break darshan were rejected.
