Kurnool: Municipal Corporation Commissioner CB Harinath Reddy has said that he wants to transform Kurnool as garbage free city. With the initiative, the Commissioner has taken up the help of some hijras to cleaning the new bus station area on Sunday.

In general, hijras are not invited to participate in any activity. But the Commissioner involved them in the cleaning work and to take part in Clean and Green programme. Speaking to media on the occasion, the Commissioner has said that thousands of passengers visit Kurnool Bus Stand to reach their destinations.

With the cleaning of new bus station, the passengers would feel good and naturally the bus station will get a good ambience, he stated. After cleaning the garbage, tree saplings will be planted to make the surroundings greenery.

He also suggested the people to follow the cleanliness drive and asked them to keep their surroundings clean and green. AP State Road Transportation Corporation, Regional Manager, Srinivasulu, Superintendent of Police Gopinath Jetty, DSPs, Gangaiah and Khader Basha, Saatha Hijras Asociation founder, Vijay Kumar, and others participated.
