The Indian Army personnel of Secunderabad Cantonment were conferred with two World Records recently. One was for the “Largest Voluntary Blood Donation & Awareness Camp on the Army Day 2017\" and the other for the “Largest Physical Fitness Participation of Indian Army on International Sports Day 2017\".

Trimulgherry: The Indian Army personnel of Secunderabad Cantonment were conferred with two World Records recently. One was for the “Largest Voluntary Blood Donation & Awareness Camp on the Army Day 2017" and the other for the “Largest Physical Fitness Participation of Indian Army on International Sports Day 2017".

The titles were given away by Dr Christina Z Chogthu, Managing Director, Telangana Tourism Development Corporation. With over 2,795 Blood units donated for the Thalassemia, Leukaemia and other needy patients and nearly 2,305 persons participating in rigorous physical fitness exercises of various types continuously for 30 minutes to promote Taekwondo martial arts, physical fitness and mental health, the Army personnel were honoured with the award.

A felicitation ceremony was organised at the 1 EME Centre to recognise and appreciate the efforts and contributions of the awardees for achieving the records. While Brig Ajay Malik, Commandant at 1 EME Centre received the award under the "Blood Donors Motivator" category, Sonibala Devi, Director of Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TSACS) clinched appreciation for the Guiding Force behind the Blood Donation Camps.
