Visakhapatnam: Acting on a tip-off, City Task Force (CTF) busted a murder sketch in the city on Sunday night. With timely action, the police saved a life of man and taken the accused into custody in the Fifth Town police limits.

According to police, there is a rivalry between Lanka Vinay, a resident Gollakancharapalem and Palla Lokesh alias Puli for the last few years. About three months ago, Vinay and his friends attacked on Lokesh at Marripalem. During the attack, Lokesh managed to escape and a taxi driver was killed in the attack. The police arrested Vinay and he was jailed also. Later, he released on bail and again threatening Palla Lokesh.

Fearing of threatening calls and feeling insecure, Lokesh decided to eliminate Vinay and waiting for an opportunity. He sketched a plan to kill Vinay during in the New Year celebrations. Lokesh contacted his friends Shankar Goud alias Pilli kallu Shankar, Gudlu Vinod Kumar and Ambati Madhusudhan Rao to execute his murder plan. As per plan, they purchased seven sharp edged knives on December 14.

However, the City Task Force got an information that Lokesh and his friends planned to kill Vinay on the New Year celebrations. The CTF personnel alerted the Fifth Town police station in this regard. Following alert from CTF, Kancharapalem Circle Inspector Chandrasekhar along with his team rushed to Old Quarters near Gnanapuram area where the accused are getting ready to kill Vinay.

The police took all the four into custody on Sunday night. During interrogation, the four admitted their plan. The police also recovered the seven knives from the accused. The court has remanded the four accused into police custody.
