Tirupati: People have celebrated New Year with religious fervour in all the temples in Tirupati and Tirumala though the temple authorities officially have not performed any pujas.

On the occasion, TTD has not performed any special rituals on the occasion of English New year in its affiliated temples in Tirumala and Tirupati. As per the Department of Endowments, Government of AP official order, TTD this year did not made any flower decorations and illumination at Lord SriVenkateswar temple, Tirumala.

Whereas more than 50,000 pilgrims had SrivariDarsan on the eve of English New Year on Monday. Few MLAs from Telugu states and one Haryan High court judge only had offered prayers on English New Year day Similarly, in Tirupati all the local temples queue lines were over crowded with pilgrims. Many people, in the wee hours, went to temples and churches for offering prayers.

Srinivasmangapur,Tiruchanur,Kodandaramaswamy, Govindraja and AlipririPadaluLakhsmi Narayan Swamy temples heave turnout with locals from the morning hours. At other temples in the district like Kanipakamand SriKalahastiwitnessed same fervour.
