Nellore: City’s 15th division corporator Anchuru Janaki launched the fifth phase of the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme at Sri Venugopala Swamy temple in the presence of NUDA Chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, TDP State vice-president Tullapaka Anuradha and Commissioner Aleem Basha. Addressing the gathering, Janaki stated that during the programme ration cards and pensions would be distributed. She said the TDP government had taken up many welfare schemes for the benefit of the people even when the State capital was being built.

The NUDA chief stated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Narayana were striving to get ‘pucca’ houses built for the poor. He said all eligible persons would be given ration cards and pensions during the Janmabhoomi programme. Anuradha stressed that all election assurances given by the party in the manifesto would be honoured by Naidu. She said the hopes of the poor for houses would materialise, while appealing to the people to make use of the Chandranna insurance scheme.

During the programme, ‘Srimantalu’ of pregnant women and ‘Annaprasannam’ of children were performed and ‘Balamrutam’ packets as part of nutritious food distributed to the needy people. Rajani of MEPMA got the Chandranna bonds distributed by the corporator. Among those present were TDP division president Ankuri Srinivasulu Naidu, Corporators Ubbhi Buvaneswara Prasad, 13th division in-charge Tane Mastan, headmaster Lakshmaiah, EE Jaganmohan Rao, AEs Raghuram, Fazil, and social worker Muralikrishna were present.
