Kakinada: On the auspicious day of Pournami (full moon) on Tuesday, the famous Veereswara Swamy Temple priests performed Chandi Homam and Rudra Homam at the temple in Muramalla village.

As the star Arudra, the birth star of Lord Shiva also falls on the full moon day of Tuesday, the priests in the temple decided to perform the Homam (a sacred fire worshipped to please the Gods) here in the temple.

The temple's principal priest Peteti Syamala Kumar supervised the Homam. The priests performed Pujas to Lord Ganesha after which the homam was performed. After the completion of the Homam, the ‘Purnaahuti’ was performed.
