Miscreants loot 3 houses; decamp with 73 sovereigns of gold, 5 lakh cash

Nellore: Some unidentified persons had stolen Rs 5 lakh cash and 73 sovereigns of gold from three houses at Manubolu in Nellore district in the early hours on Tuesday. The burglary took place on Padamati Street in Manubolu.
According to sources, Eshwar Reddy, Madhu Reddy and Koteswar Reddy of Padamati Street are farmers. Family members of the three houses went to neighbouring village on Sunday. The miscreants looted Rs 50 sovereigns of gold and Rs 2.35 lakh cash from Eshwar Reddy's house; 20 sovereigns of gold, silver worth Rs 50,000 and Rs 2.50 lakh cash from Madhu Reddy’s house; and 3 sovereigns of gold and Rs 15,000 cash from Koteswar Reddy’s house.
When the family members reached home on Tuesday, they had found cash and valuables missing and they lodged complaints with the Manubolu police. Gudur DSP VS Rambabu, along with Gudur Town Circle Inspector TV Subba Rao, visited the houses and collected details of the theft. Clues team had collected finger prints.
