Host Visakhapatnam Port Trust clinched the team championship title in the All India Major Ports Chess Championship. VPSC player R Babu Rao showed his best performance and he was instrumental in getting the championship for the team by winning seven points out of seven games.

Visakhapatnam: Host Visakhapatnam Port Trust clinched the team championship title in the All India Major Ports Chess Championship. VPSC player R Babu Rao showed his best performance and he was instrumental in getting the championship for the team by winning seven points out of seven games.

In the table tennis team event, Visakhapatnam Port Trust stood in third position. GVS Rama Rao of VPSC entered the men’s singles final in the individual event. VPSC carrom team lost in the semi finals and stood in fourth position.

In the team event of carrom, Chennai Port secured first place and Mumbai Port and JNPT secured second and third places respectively. In the team event of table tennis, Mumbai Port and Kolkata Port entered the finals. In the individual event, Soumik De Sarkar (Kolkata) will clash with GVS Rama Rao (Vizag) in the finals.
