Locals at the Mustafa Colony identified the couple as Rajesh, who worked as an electrician and Sowmya and their children as Vishnu Teja and Jahnavi.
The family hails from Kanigiri in Prakasam district but shifted to Visakhapatnam in search of livelihood.
Police suspect financial troubles to be the reason behind the couple taking the extreme step.
