Amaravati: The state government constituted a four-member Expert Committee to formulate a new AP State Archival Policy and institutional set-up with state of the art technology.

In the context of bifurcation of united AP, the government decided to bring new policy for effective preservation, maintenance, management and retrieval of records. Dr Vakulabharanam Ramakrishna, Dr Usha Suresh and Dr V. Jeyraj are the members and Ranga Raja, Deputy Director at AP State Archives, Hyderabad, is member convener of the expert committee.

The committee has been mandated to scrutiny the draft policy and ‘Institutional Set-up’ prepared by the government and submit their recommendations or suggestions duly covering each aspect of archives matters, keeping in view the current set-ups prevailing in various countries and Government of India and other states.

The government directed the committee to submit its report within two weeks from its formation day. That is by January 20 or one day after the mandated day. The members would conduct one-day workshop at AP Secretariat, Velagapudi, said Srikant Nagulapalli, Secretary, General Administration Department.
