The Court also issued orders to punish those who ignored court orders last year.

The bench of Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice G Shyam Prasad has sought an action taken a report on the officials facing allegations of complacency during the festival.

Around 43 tehsildars and 49 police officials from West Godavari district are learned to be involved in turning a blind eye to the cock-fights during the festival.

The bench said that the conduct of AP Director General of Police and Chief Secretary in implementing its Dec 2016 order will be looked into.
