YSR Congress party senior leader and MP Vijay Sai Reddy lodged a complaint with union government against growing water pollution from industires in two mandals covered under Special Economic Zone in Visakhapatnam district.
YSR Congress party senior leader and MP Vijay Sai Reddy lodged a complaint with union government against growing water pollution from industires in two mandals covered under Special Economic Zone in Visakhapatnam district.
The YSR Congress leader informed union minister of Environment Dr. Harsh Vardhan that nearly 40 indsutries were established in Achutapuram and Rambilli mandals. The companies were emitting industrial effluents indiscriminately which caused huge water pollution in and around the SEZ.
The MP brought to the notice of the minister with evidences that all the industries violated the norms in containing environmental pollution. As a result, ground water and see water around the industrial zone was polluted completed. People were deprived of drinking water and other essential needs due to unabated water pollution.
Local affected people staged several dharnas and agitation but the state government fell on deaf ears, Reddy said requested the union minister to initiate stringent action against polluting industries and come to the rescue of people immediately.
