Eluru: Information Technology, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Nara Lokesh said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been striving hard for the people’s welfare at the age of 67 years.

The Minister participated in the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme organised at Palacole town in West Godavari district on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said that the Chief Minister is spending funds for the welfare of people despite state is reeling under deficit budget.

He stated that the government is taking steps to ensure a monthly income of Rs 10,000 for each family. He promised to lay Cement Concrete (CC) roads to every colony in the village by March 2019. The Minister stated that he had introduced the star ratings to panchayats.

A panchayat gets 10-star rating if every household has cooking gas and water tap connection, and individual toilet. Also, the village should have dumping yard and road connectivity. Excise Minister KS Jawahar and Labour Minister Pithani Satyanarayana addressed the meeting.

Palacole MLA Nimmala Ramanayudu presided over the meeting. The MLA said that Palacole constituency was developed at a cost of Rs 314 crore with the cooperation of Nara Lokesh. District Collector Katamaneni Bhaskar and others spoke.

Later, Lokesh distributed Sankranti Kanuka, ration cards, and sports kits to players and handed over 88 power tillers to the beneficiaries. He inaugurated the panchayat buildings with a remote control.

District in-charge Minister P Pulla Rao, Sports Minister Kollu Ravindra, ZP Chairman Mullapudi Bapiraju, Kapu Corporation Chairman Chalamalasetty Ramanujaya, former Minister Kothapalli Subbarayudu, MLAs Bandaru Madhava Naidu, Peethala Sujatha, A Radhakrishna and others participated in the programme.
