Five Tundurru activists arrested
Police arrested five activists of Anti-Tundurru Mega Aqua Food Park Committee ahead of the the arrival of IT and panchayat raj minister Nara Lokesh on Friday evening at Mogaltur in West Godavari district.
Eluru: Police arrested five activists of Anti-Tundurru Mega Aqua Food Park Committee ahead of the the arrival of IT and panchayat raj minister Nara Lokesh on Friday evening at Mogaltur in West Godavari district.
The Anti-food park agitators reached in scores to Mogaltur to submit a memorandum to the minister in the evening. However, as the minister did not turn up at that time, police identified the Tundurru agitators and arrested them near the public meeting area, triggering some tension.
Later, police searched for other agitators from Tundurru, Jonnala Garuvu and K Bethapudi who came to submit a memorandum on their problem to Lokesh. The senior officials directed the police not to take any risk during the programme in which the Lokesh is participating.
