Suspicious over unknown callers, father beats daughter to death
In a shocking incident, a Class 10 student was beaten to death by his father due to unknown calls he had been getting to his cellphone. After the death, the father tried to cover up the matter saying that her daughter died in ill health.
Vijayawada: In a shocking incident, a Class 10 student was beaten to death by his father due to unknown calls he had been getting to his cellphone. After the death, the father tried to cover up the matter saying that her daughter died in ill health.
According to the police, the victim who had been identified as Krishnaveni was studying Class 10 near VUDA Colony here in the city. Her father Ramana works as an auto driver.
A few days, Ramana picked up an argument with his daughter saying that he had been frequently getting calls from unknown people asking for Krishnaveni.
However, Krishnaveni told him that she was clueless about the unknown people and callers.
Frustrated over this, Ramana beat up her daughter leaving a deep internal injury to her head. She collapsed on the spot and died. To cover up his mistake, Ramana and family members told their neighbors that Krishnaveni died of illness.
Suspicious about their version, locals informed the police. During the interrogation, Ramana confessed that his daughter died after he thrashed her. A case has been registered against him and the police sent the accused on remand.
